    Hub

    My Hub is flashing red/yellow

Your hub will flash red or yellow when it is disconnected from our servers, please check these settings to connect your hub:

    • Check your hub’s power and ethernet connections. Ensure the LED lights on the back of the hub near the ethernet port are lit when the ethernet cord is plugged in.
    • Try another port on your router.
    • Restart your router. After it’s back online, reconnect the hub.
    • Bypass the router altogether, and plug your Scout hub directly into your modem. If the hub works in your modem, there may be an issue with your router.

If the hub remains offline, you can view additional troubleshooting steps here

    Door Panel

    My Door Panel isn’t pairing

If your door panel does not pair within 3 minutes of pulling the battery tabs, please follow these directions to perform a factory reset on your sensor

    1. Stay on the pairing page that prompts you to pull the battery tabs
    2. Remove the faceplate and batteries from the door panel
    3. While holding down the reset button, re-insert the batteries
    4. Release the reset button

The pairing bars will fill and the door panel will chirp to indicate the sensor is paired

My Door Panel doesn’t register open or close consistently

A door panel will remain in the "open" state if the magnet attachment is ½” or more away from the main sensor panel in any direction.

Please move the magnet closer to the main panel. Reach out to support@scoutalarm.com for help with installation or additional adhesive.

My Door Panel is too loud!

We can lower the chirp volume for you! Simply email support@scoutalarm.com and we’ll take care of it.

If you would prefer to silence your door panel’s chirps entirely, you can do that on the device’s page in the app.

    Access Sensor

    My Access Sensor isn’t pairing

If your access sensor does not pair within 3 minutes of pulling the battery tabs, please follow these directions to perform a factory reset on your sensor

    1. Stay on the pairing page that prompts you to pull the battery tabs
    2. Remove the faceplate and battery from the access sensor
    3. While holding down the reset button, re-insert the batteries
    4. Release the reset button

The pairing bars will fill and the hub will chirp to indicate the sensor is paired

My Access Sensor doesn’t register open or close consistently

Please move the magnet closer to the main panel. Reach out to support@scoutalarm.com for help with installation or additional adhesive.

Why isn't my access sensor chirping?

The Scout hub "chirps" each time the access sensor is opened during installation and when the access sensor's device screen is open.

After installation, the access sensor will no longer chirp from the hub. If you like the chirp, you can enable it from the sensor settings screen.

    Motion Sensor

    My Motion Sensor isn’t pairing

If your motion sensor does not pair within 3 minutes of pulling the battery tabs, please follow these directions to perform a factory reset on your sensor

    1. Stay on the pairing page that prompts you to pull the battery tabs
    2. Remove the faceplate and batteries from the motion sensor
    3. While holding down the reset button, re-insert the batteries
    4. Release the reset button

The pairing bars will fill and the hub will chirp to indicate the sensor is paired

Why is my Motion Sensor chirping?

The Scout hub chirps when motion is detected during installation to assist with placement and sensor testing.

After the installation process is complete, the motion sensor will no longer chirp unless it’s detecting motion while it’s armed.

Are the Scout Motion Sensors pet friendly?

Scout motion sensors are not currently pet friendly, but we are working on a pet friendly solution that will be made available to our current customers.

In the meantime, if you’re eager to make the motion sensors work with pets, we’ve found placing a piece of electrical tape over the bottom half of the sensor’s lens has been effective to prevent false motion triggers from pets.

    Water Sensor

    My Water Sensor isn’t pairing

If your water sensor does not pair within 3 minutes of pulling the battery tabs, please follow these directions to perform a factory reset on your sensor

    1. Stay on the pairing page that prompts you to pull the battery tabs
    2. Remove the faceplate and battery from the water sensor
    3. While holding down the reset button, re-insert the batteries
    4. Release the reset button

The water sensor's light will flash, the pairing bars will fill and the hub will chirp to indicate the sensor is paired

My Water Sensor isn't detecting water

The Water Sensor's status will change from Dry to Wet after its sensing probes has come in contact with water. Ensure you are placing water on one of the four probes; if you are using the wire connected probe, make sure the chord is firmly placed in the sensor.
