We are proud to be amongst the first Android apps to support Google’s new custom voice action functionality.
This integration allows you to quickly arm and disarm your system without launching the Scout app. Depending on your Android phone settings, you could do all this without even touching your phone.
As long as you’re using the latest versions of the Scout Alarm Android app and Google Search app, you can simply say “Ok Google, turn on Scout”, or tap the search button and say a command.
Here are some examples of what you do with this new voice command feature:
Say: “Ok Google…”
(Arming your system) “Turn on Scout” “Arm a mode on Scout” “Activate a mode on Scout” “Set a mode on Scout” “Arm the security system with Scout”
(Disarming your system) “Turn everything off on Scout” “Disarm the alarm on Scout” “Disarm all modes on Scout” “Shut off the alarm on Scout” “Disable security system on Scout”
(Arming a specific Scout mode) “Arm Away mode on Scout” “Switch to Vacation mode on Scout” “Turn on Home mode on Scout” “Enable at Work mode on Scout” “I’m going away with Scout” “Go to Sleep on Scout”
(Disarming a specific Scout mode) “Disarm Away mode on Scout” “Turn off Vacation mode on Scout” “Stop Sleep mode on Scout” “Shut off Work mode on Scout”
Any combination of the trigger words will work, so start commanding Scout with just the sound of your voice today.
